Human Factors in Police & other emergency services

image of policeman assisting a man in the streetJust like every other area of society the emergency services are becoming more and more dependant on technology to maintain an effective service.  With technology comes more complexity and a critical need to ensure systems are designed around the needs of those who will use them, and that emergency services personnel are properly selected and trained to deal with the complexity of their jobs, equipment and environments.

MBarron Consulting Ltd has provided Emergency Services consultancy in the following roles;  learning & development, requirements compliance, business change, project delivery, user centred design and user acceptance testing.  We have worked on projects that have included command and control room design, CCTV control room design, Information and intelligence management systems, communication control system usability, crime system usability, human performance route cause investigation, design of face to face and e-learning training interventions, conduct of training needs analysis, and the development of human factors requirements.

We have supported a number of key programmes of change within the Metropolitan Police Service including:
  •  Management of Police Information (MoPI)
  •  Command, Control & Communication (CCC)
  •  Integrated Communication Control System (ICCS)
  •  CCTV Human Factors review
  •  Improving Policing Information programme (IPI)
  •  Notifiable Occupations Scheme project (NOS)
  •  Information Sharing Business Change project (ISBC)
