Human Factors Integration (HFI)
Human Factors Integration (HFI) is a philosophy and set of management processes and
tools
that ensures human issues are identified, collated, shared and actioned
effectively. Actively managing human factors and planning how human
factors will be built into project lifecycles, and how human performance issues
will be shared and acted upon by other teams or disciplines (e.g. system
engineering, logistics, software) has proven to be pivotal to the success of
many projects.

Key Benefits of Human Factors
Integration
- HFI 'built-in' at the planning stage of a programme or project will ensure that human
issues are managed correctly
- Properly managed HF issues will help ensure that resultant systems,
products or
environments are optimised for the people who will use them.
- HFI is mandatory on all UK MoD Projects
- Helps to ensure that the design is right first time - avoiding costly
re-works.
- Plan-in adherence to key
human factors
standards.

Capabilities
We have extensive experience in managing human factors programmes, writing
and assessing human factors integration plans, and
ensuring effective integration with other design disciplines within an overall
system engineering framework. We have experience working in accordance with MoD
HFI Management Guidelines and and
other industry sector best practice guidance.
